A boy and his guitar...
I've been looking forward to shooting this session for a long time. I love this kid's uniqueness. He's a talented musician, and has such a fun personality. We braved the nasty Saskatchewan winds, and managed to do a session that totally captured him as he really is.
One of my favorites. Who says a picture needs to be in focus to be good?

The day has finally arrived!!
I can confess, now that the day is over, that I was incredibly nervous about doing this wedding! The bride is a good friend of mine, and it's always scary to photography friends and family. Plus it was all after 7:00 p.m., so the light was low, and that has it's own set of challenges. The wind, thankfully, calmed down a lot after supper, so we were able to get out and shoot at lightning speed to get it all captured before sundown.
This is one of the greatest families I know. It was just so inspiring to watch them go through their vows at the ceremony. To watch their relationship with eachother and their four kids is really encouraging. They all get along so well, and I just loved seeing them all together on saturday. We're all so happy for you guys, and I'm so grateful to have gotten to share the day with you (even though I nearly ended my life trying to answer your cell!) Hope this little preview will hold you over til the rest are ready.
For those of you who missed grabbing a gallery card, here's the link to the site. I'll try and have them up within about 2 1/2 weeks. The collection is Weddings, the album is the couple's names, and the password is their last name.

The Details
The inspiration for the makeup, done by the bride's awesome sister (I liked this chick. She was fun!)
Shelley's boys, walking her down the aisle. Most eyes were welling up at this point!
The Sand Ceremony is done at some weddings, and symbolizes the coming together of two people. The different colored sand represents the individuals. They are brought together in marriage, and should never be seperated, yet they still remain their own unique person. This was extra special in this ceremony, as they incorporated 6 different colored sands, representing the couple and their four children.

Broadview Grad
Friday was a busy and exciting day. The first grad class of the year! It was a small one with only 11 students, so I figured I'd post one for each person. I won't be doing this for my other classes, as they're all substantially larger than this one. So I guess you guys are extra special. Here's a few to see while you wait for the rest to go up on your online galleries. Hope you guys had an awesome, safe Grad! Congratulations :)
And one of Kristen, even though she's not a Broadview Grad. We did a session earlier in the week, so I figured I may as well just stick her in here. She's sort of a Broadviewian anyway :)

My dapper dad
For those of you who might know my dad, this post will make sense to you, and make you say "That's so Marlow". For those of you who don't, just understand that my dad is very much his own person. My mom e-mailed me this picture this morning. They live out at a lake where only a few other people live year round. They went for supper to a neighbor's cabin, and dad decided to "dress up" for the occasion. He's in love with his scarf that he bought in South America this winter.

Outdoor grad
On Saturday I got to do my first outdoor grad session of the year. I book 4 different schools, and usually do them all on their grad day. It's very hectic, and the session times are limited. A lot of you have decided to come on a day other than your actual grad day. It's a great idea, because we can take our time, do some outdoor shots, and you don't have to worry about it on grad day. You'll have more time to relax. Here's a few sample shots of what you'll get on a non-grad day session. If you haven't booked yet, space is filling up. Get in touch with me a.s.a.p!!

Encouragement for the day
This morning I was reading my bible, and came across this verse. With all the crappy stuff happening in the world, I think this passage gives some good advice to live by, whether you're a Christian or not.
"...live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble. Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing."
1 Peter 3:8-9
Be a positive blessing in someone's life today!

Howard Derby's vehicle graveyard revisited....
I got to do another photo session at Howie's lot again today! Not too many people have let me venture off here for their sessions, but this guy (and his mom) were up for it! He was also a good sport and put up with me lugging Casey around with us the whole time. We did a back alley tour as well and found some areas that I hadn't used before. I'm having a fun week of firsts :)
