Chilly session

This couple came in with her brother while he was getting grad pictures done. We went off afterwards to do a few shots around town. It was so bitterly cold, and they both had short sleeves on. We had to move fast, but we got a lot of ground covered. Thanks for being so willing to brave the ugly weather guys!

Snowy family pictures

This family called a few weeks ago and were hoping to get some outdoor snowy pictures done. When it came to the day of their appointment, there wasn't a whole lot of snow on the ground at our house, and the wind was bitter cold. I called to confirm, and they were still up for it, so I packed up my gear (and Casey) and headed out to their farm. I was thinking that the pictures were going to be fairly blah, since in town the trees were bare, the ground was brown, and the wind was strong. I got out to their farm, and to my surprise there was a few feet of snow in the yard, and the beautiful full pines blocked alot of the lovely saskatchewan breeze! I actually ended up needing to borrow winter boots from them, because I foolishly came out in sneakers with no socks (my trademark). I think they turned out pretty good! Much better than I had thought they would.

Happy Easter!

I will be taking a few days away from the studio to spend some time with my family over Easter. I will be back to work on Wednesday, March 26th. Our plans almost got changed when we found out that my parents were stuck in the Miami airport (they'd been backpacking around South America for 7 weeks and were on their way home). There were some major tornados hitting Texas, and a lot of flights were delayed. Thankfully, it sounds like they made their flight to Calgary tonight, so hooray!! I still get a holiday! And hooray for them too (it's not all about me, I know). They are ready to be home, and this was just a little kink in the plans.

Hope everyone is able to spend some quality time with family and friends this weekend. Be safe and have a wonderful Easter. I've got some wintery family pictures to post when I get back. I got to photograph an awesome family of six on monday, and their kids are super cool and the most polite and mature kids I think I've ever come across! Stay tuned......

Ringlets and chubby cheeks

What a little doll. She going to go crazy in a few years when everyone who sees her wants to touch her hair! It was so gorgeous. I just couldn't stop taking pictures! This is the new set that I posted images from a few entries down. Now here it is, with a real live person in it!

This was her "I'm sick of this" moment, but after a quick snack, she was ready to go again!

Art Prints for Sale

From time to time I get the chance to photograph non-human type stuff. This one is specially made by God himself! What an incredible earth we have. Kimball Lake is one of the most precious places in my world. I grew up there, and my parents have retired there. I was able to capture the winter beauty out on the lake at Christmas this year. We spent the afternoon snow shoeing and photographing our spectacular surroundings.

This print is available for sale. Available sizes and prices are listed below. If you need a gift for a certain someone, and don't know what to give them, this will be something unique. I will be printing these on a per order basis, so please allow 3-5 weeks for delivery.

I also have others available upon request, if you are in need of a gift for that hard to buy for person (or yourself!) If old trucks are your thing, I've got a killer image of an old rusty International. It's on the slideshow of my website, on the opening page. http://www.papermoonphotography.com/

Sorry, no pictures......

I've done two of the "Secret Sessions" this past week, and they both turned out fabulous. Two different women, both of whom were beautiful. Here's a quote from one of them.

" I just wanted to send a quick note to tell you that I had so so so much fun yesturday and I really appreciate all the work you do. Thank you so much for yesturday, it made me feel good. That is a confidence booster I think. It was a great day!"
SS client "A"

What I've enjoyed about these sessions so far is watching the women light up when they see an image of themselves on the camera that they really love. It's such a great feeling to be able to make a woman feel good about her body, through images like this. There were so many beautiful pictures of these two ladies, but of course, they're not going up on the blog!!

A new set in the studio!!

For the longest time I've wanted to do this set, but wasn't sure how to accomplish it. A few days ago I was inspired by a fellow photographer in the states, to make this happen. Her name is Amy and her website is http://www.inspireportrait.com/ She explained how to set it up and light it, and on a whim today in Regina, I bought my laminate and baseboard and just decided to do it. I love the living room feel to it. I'm picturing a 6 month old sitting in my little wicker bowl, in just a diaper. Or a newborn all curled up in it. I just snapped a few shots on it tonight after Brent and I laid the flooring. Gotta love snap together laminate. We did this in about a 1/2 hour! No glueing or cutting, as I need to slide it out of the way when I use my wall adjacent to this set.

If you can picture your little one in here, give me a call. 6 months (or when they're sitting, but not crawling yet) is a perfect age. Almost anything you do makes them giggle, and they can't get away!!
